With the launch of the upgraded 1Office CEO version, 1Office founder Le Viet Thang affirms that information technology does not create new problems, but rather seeks to solve “not-so-new” problems with more optimal solutions.

While riding a motorbike taxi home five years ago, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, founder of the online university Funix, was asked by the driver about the subject he taught when the driver learned he was a teacher. After finding out that Mr. Nam taught programming, the motorbike taxi driver immediately suggested, “can you do some programming for me?”

It turned out that besides driving a motorbike taxi to earn extra income, this person also owned two stores in Hoa Binh and Hanoi. The driver wanted to be able to monitor the business situation at these two stores while driving his motorbike taxi.

“The natural way he spoke surprised me greatly. I realized the maturity and readiness of our people to adopt technology,” said Mr. Nam.

According to the former FPT CEO, digital transformation is not something overly daunting. If you talk about digital transformation in a “grand and complex” way, people won’t understand. They just need to solve the existing problems in their lives and work. Mr. Nam realized that there is indeed a very large market.

Five years ago, when the concept of digital transformation in Vietnam was still in its nascent stages, like a “flickering sprout” that had not yet truly boomed, businesses had the choice to follow this trend or not.

However, a major upheaval named COVID-19 occurred in 2020, significantly affecting companies of all sizes, but it also served as a push for businesses to be more resolute in their choice: “digitally transform or die.”

According to research by Google and Temasek (Singapore), the value of the digital economy is projected to reach $30 billion by 2025. In other words, more than just a trend, digital transformation has become an irreversible movement.

In reality, six months after COVID-19 temporarily subsided in Vietnam due to good disease control, technology companies and businesses that had successfully undergone digital transformation were able to stand firm and suffered fewer negative impacts compared to those that had not.

Mr. Nam believes that, regardless of the era, business leaders always face many problems. Three decades ago, his problem was simply how to make a paper printout look as good as the display on the screen.

For Mr. Le Viet Thang, the founder of 1Office and someone who had long been “advised” by Mr. Nam, there are six major management problems that companies are facing.

When first established, a company faces problems related to work management. As personnel increases, leaders struggle with human resource problems. Then, as departments and divisions “swell”, the problem of process management emerges.

As the company grows and the customer base expands, the number of customer requests increases, and at this point, business and finance problems arise. Finally, there is the issue of building a corporate culture.

“However, in the current market, it is very difficult to find a solution that helps businesses handle about 80% of their problems. They only focus on solving a single problem, their automation and customization capabilities are limited, they lack integration and scalability, and the cost is not suitable,” said Mr. Thang.

This forces businesses to use too many software applications, leading to unsynchronized data and high implementation costs. As a result, a business, which is inherently a unified entity, becomes “fragmented and disjointed” when operating on an online platform.

Mr. Thang said that is why 1Office officially launched the upgraded 1Office CEO version, marking the product’s next development step on its journey to becoming a leading ‘made in Vietnam’ comprehensive management platform for domestic businesses. The 1Office CEO version will be an upgrade with the desire to provide leaders with a comprehensive, real-time overview of the business’s operational status, anytime, anywhere.

Besides possessing all the features and advantages of the previous 1Office version, 1Office CEO also has two new upgrades. The first is the intelligent BI (business intelligence) reporting system, which is a comprehensive, accurate, and intuitive measure that helps CEOs grasp a 360-degree view of the business’s health. The second is the knowhow cloud sample data system – a repository of business know-how for all sectors, compiled throughout the process of implementing for thousands of businesses, with the joint contribution of over 30 experts in corporate governance consulting.

Not only does it provide a management software solution, 1Office also offers an entire online working environment on the Internet by digitizing the entire enterprise and turning it into a unified entity, from human resources, customers, sales, to communications…

Specifically, 1Office provides businesses with three main toolkits for managing processes, work, and internal communications; managing human resources; and managing sales and marketing. These toolkits help solve about 80% of the problems within a business.

Mr. Thang stated that the remaining 20% of unresolved issues related to accounting will be implemented as soon as businesses are ready, as many companies are still hesitant to store accounting data on the cloud.

Sharing with TheLEADER about the current market competition in providing a solution to these “not-so-new” problems, the 1Office leader affirmed that information technology does not create new problems, but rather seeks to solve them with more optimal solutions.

“In other words, the race to find a more optimal solution is in itself a challenging journey. And on this journey, 1Office has its own goals, its own strategy, and its own advantages, so we are confident that we are a completely different color in the market,” said Mr. Thang.

“The goal of 1Office is not just to beat one or two competitors, but to capture 20-30% of the market and secure a spot among the top three solutions in Southeast Asia,” the 1Office leader added.

This entrepreneur said there are five main motivations that led him to create 1Office. First, to help businesses completely solve problems in management and operations. Second, to consolidate that solution onto a single platform, avoiding the fragmentation and disconnection of business data.

Third, to provide a solution with a cost suitable for the vast majority of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam. Fourth, stemming from the aspiration to create a purely Vietnamese management solution optimized for Vietnamese businesses. Finally, the winds of the Industry 4.0 era have inadvertently blown in the right direction, “pushing the boat” for 1Office to set sail. For Mr. Thang, it was the right time, the right place, and the right people.
