In the workplace, you’ll often encounter situations that are enough to make even the calmest person’s blood boil.
You’re swamped with work, clients are constantly rushing you, colleagues are slacking, and your boss is continuously pushing for results… Try applying the following 5 methods to detox your mind.
Take time to rest
Stand up, step away from your desk, relax for a few minutes, or take a short walk. Don’t worry about forgetting where you left off.
It’s better to take time to let your mind relax and rest, then return to work feeling refreshed. Your productivity will also increase significantly.
Take a deep breath
You may be angry, but that doesn’t mean you should find someone to take it all out on. Doing so will only alienate your colleagues and make the situation worse.
Find a quiet corner, take a deep breath, and then breathe in and out steadily for 60 seconds.

Think positively
There’s an old saying: “Anger clouds judgment.” Even if you’ve had a day full of bad luck, remember to think positively. Don’t think that your life is full of misfortune. Instead, think: Everything will be fine, “every cloud has a silver lining.”
Find someone to confide in
Don’t just find anyone because you’re looking for an “unlimited emotional dumping ground.” The best approach is to calm down first, then find a close colleague who understands you to confide in.
To make it easier, remember this formula: “When X happened, it made me feel Y, and I could use your help with Z. Are you open to listening?”.
Empathy
Empathy is always the most effective medicine for the heart and the quickest way to quell inner turmoil.
This applies not only to your colleagues but also to yourself, as you might one day be in their shoes. Try to give them some space, then, when things seem to have calmed down a bit, gently approach them and ask: “You seemed upset about something earlier, didn’t you? How about we go out for a drink and a change of scenery?”.
