According to a survey by the Agency for Enterprise Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment, up to 48.8% of businesses admitted that they had invested in software solutions but are no longer using them. This means that for every 10 “Digital Transformation” projects, about 5 fail to deliver value, wasting the company’s resources.

On October 25th in Hanoi, 1Office, in collaboration with Viet Nam DX Group, successfully organized the seminar “Digital Transformation: Mindset or Tool?”. The event attracted a large number of participants, including business professionals, technology experts, and those interested in the modern digital revolution.

The “Digital Transformation: Mindset or Tool?” workshop was organized by 1Office and Viet Nam DX Group.

Speaking at the Workshop, Mr. Le Trung Thang – Founder & CEO of Viet Nam DX Group emphasized that technology is just a tool, and the human spirit and adaptability are the most unique and important aspects. According to Mr. Thang, the role of leadership is crucial in the digital transformation process. Leaders must lead the adoption of technology and drive innovation within the organization. They must create an environment that fosters creativity and innovation, while also focusing on the customer and employee experience to ensure they feel satisfied and motivated during the digital transformation process.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Chu Tien Long – Digital Transformation Director of 1Office, presented effective methods and practices for transforming traditional business processes into digitized ones, helping businesses enhance efficiency and creativity.

Mr. Long stated that the current state of process implementation in businesses shows a trend where 100% of CxOs (Chairman, CEO, CIO) recognize the importance of processes, yet up to 90% of businesses with fewer than 20 employees have no processes. Meanwhile, only about 70% of businesses have processes when their workforce exceeds 50 people. Notably, 90% of businesses that have processes have not yet digitized them.

Accordingly, Mr. Long highlighted the benefits of process digitalization, such as: Easily applying processes to practical operations as it doesn’t require training for new participants and supervision is also easier; Digitalized processes help work become smoother and more seamless, thereby enhancing employee performance; Accurately evaluating each task, preventing responsibility shifting and avoiding blame; The smart alert system helps prevent forgotten or missed tasks; Based on statistical reports, organizations can improve processes to make them more suitable and optimized; Process digitalization creates a modern and unified working environment for employees, while also providing a seamless experience for customers…

To digitalize a business in the most convenient and smoothest way, business support policies are indispensable. At the seminar, Ms. Tran Thi Trang – Head of the Innovative Startup Support Department, Hanoi Department of Planning & Investment, shared a clearer perspective on how the government and local organizations support business development through digital transformation.

“Accordingly, it is necessary to promote innovative startup communication and build a startup culture. Develop human resources for innovative startups by organizing training courses. Develop infrastructure, technology, and premises for innovative startup activities. Promote innovative startup activities by organizing conferences, seminars, etc. Support the application of science and technology, technology transfer, and products. Provide financial support and promote investment activities for innovative startups.” – Ms. Trang emphasized.

The global economy is undergoing a strong shift, and this is a crucial time for Vietnam to become the region’s science and technology startup hub. To enhance innovation, transform the digital economy, and lead startups to success, the Government needs to develop financial policies to support innovative startups, such as tax incentives, credit policies, and other support policies.

Businesses and socio-political organizations need to increase orders and use products from innovative startups, promote the development of the market for innovative products, and connect support services for the national startup ecosystem.
