With over 25 years of operation, Thinh Hung Auto Co., Ltd. is one of the top three corporations specializing in automotive sales and services in Vietnam, honored by General Motors (USA) in 2016. The company is currently a distributor for the Vinfast, Chevrolet, and Suzuki brands, while also providing warranty services, car maintenance, and genuine spare parts.
As a company open to adopting and transferring technology, Thinh Hung Auto had previously successfully implemented software to support work management, thereby significantly improving overall efficiency. However, when looking at the bigger picture, the company had only optimized a very small link in the chain, while related links such as processes and human resources remained unaddressed. This created unusual disruptions in the operational apparatus, as the different links failed to achieve a uniform speed within the overall system.
In human resource management, the biggest difficulty Thinh Hung Auto faced was the manual process of timekeeping, payroll calculation, and request approvals. Every month, the company had to deploy a large number of personnel and spend a lot of time extracting data from time clocks, cross-referencing work logs with requests from emails, hard copies, and Zalo, as well as manually entering information into Excel to calculate salaries using a series of complex formulas. When department staff reviewed the timesheets and found errors, the HR & Admin department had to once again process and approve complaints and update various files.
Additionally, with multiple process flows for importing/exporting cars and spare parts, as well as warranty and maintenance services involving different departments, Thinh Hung Auto was facing a major challenge in process management. With the software Thinh Hung had implemented, most sub-tasks were closely and tightly managed; however, the transition flow after these tasks were completed remained unaddressed. This made it difficult for management to control progress and service quality at each position and responsible department.
Faced with fragmentation in its management practices, the leadership of Thinh Hung Auto diligently searched for a comprehensive technology solution, hoping to simultaneously optimize the smaller links to create uniformity and consistency in the operational apparatus.
