With the mission of bringing Vietnamese fashion products with good quality and excellent service to customers in all regions of Vietnam and around the world. After 6 years of development, Yody has made breakthrough progress with a network of 109 stores stretching across the North and Central regions, with a workforce of over 2,000 people.
To achieve this, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hoa – Chairman of the Board and CEO of YODY Fashion, has drawn out 7 development solutions for retail chains that have been and are being successfully applied.

6 issues in human resources:
1. Selecting the right people:
In any business, people are always the most important factor, determining the success or failure of that organization. Therefore, personnel selection from the very beginning must be a right step, with shared motivation, direction, and goals.
At Yody, during the pandemic, a series of stores were closed and revenue dropped to almost zero, yet not a single employee left. In the most difficult times, everyone stepped up like a “volunteer”; regardless of their expertise as accountants or leaders, all were willing to work without pay to support the company’s online business operations.
2. The mid-level management team must be decisive, strong, and diligent in everything:
In the early stages of a business, there may be many difficulties in recruiting and finding talent. But the smaller the business, the more it must try every method, because all work depends on whether you have put in enough effort.
A valuable lesson from Yody is to always be proactive in learning and gaining experience from large companies, including competitors, to find your own solutions.
3. Educate first, train later:
For new employees, it is essential to be flexible and help them get acquainted with the work environment as a top priority. Yody sets aside discussions about work performance and KPIs; in the early days, we need to share our corporate culture.
4. Mindset for inter-departmental & divisional coordination:
At Yody, the perspective is that the back office (office block) serves the front line (direct sales block). All tasks from paperwork, approvals, and procedures need to be streamlined as much as possible, reducing non-revenue-generating activities to support the front line in achieving effective business results.
5. Empowering mid-level managers:
As the organization’s scale grows and the workload increases, senior leaders can no longer pay detailed attention to everything. This is when “Empowerment” should be implemented.
6. Always care for, guide, and encourage each other:
Create a joyful and happy work environment every day. This is one of the most crucial factors in retaining talent.
At YODY, the company provides lunch and dinner for all employees. Staff no longer need to worry about what or where to eat today, which not only helps them focus more on their work but also enhances connections among everyone.
To do these 6 things well, Yody needed a 7th step to solve the management problem.
7. Implementing digital transformation:
Faced with the need for a solution to store information, facilitate the search for profile data, and have sufficient information for decision-making processes. Mr. Nguyen Viet Hoa – Chairman of the Board and CEO of YODY Fashion, said: “At this point, we needed a technology platform to optimize the entire workflow and transmit information quickly, timely, accurately, and completely. Yody has succeeded by integrating 1Office software into its operations”.

Yody implements digital transformation
By applying 1Office software, Yody has solved its problems in distinctive ways, such as:
- HR data is updated timely and accurately: Yody has migrated all HR data management from Excel to 1Office.
- Helps save costs and time: because expense approval forms are transferred from paper to the software quickly and completely.
- Minimizes losses: as moving timekeeping from Excel to the software ensures salary accuracy for employees, whereas timekeeping in Excel was prone to errors.
These 7 solutions that have been and are being applied at Yody are also practical insights that retail chain businesses can apply to their own companies. And as Mr. Nguyen Viet Hoa shared: Only those who dare to fail can achieve great success!
