People – The Driving Force of Digital Transformation
Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Trung Thang, Founder & CEO of Viet Nam DX Group, emphasized that technology is merely a tool, and the human spirit and adaptability are the most unique and crucial elements. He shared insights on creating an environment for people to thrive in the context of digital transformation.
It is clear that digital transformation plays a major role in businesses today: It helps connect and reduce the distance between departments, promotes efficiency in corporate governance, optimizes employee productivity, enhances product quality, and improves the company’s competitive edge.
In his presentation, Mr. Le Trung Thang mentioned Microsoft’s Digital Transformation model and focused on the crucial role of people in the digital transformation process. He made it clear that people are at the center of all activities related to technology and digital transformation. This includes:
- Customer Experience (CX): Technology must be applied to create better experiences for customers, partners, and suppliers. This helps improve their satisfaction;
- Employee Experience (EX): Digital transformation must also bring happiness to those working in the organization, from investors, leadership, and managers to employees. This group is considered internal customers who need proper care to deliver a good CX in the digital era.
- Internal Operations Optimization: Technology plays a vital role in optimizing the organization’s internal operational processes, helping to save time and operational costs;
- When looking outward, thanks to technology, businesses can create new business models, increasing their competitive advantage.
Mr. Thang also mentioned 5 key aspects of transformation in the digital era, cited from Professor David Rogers of Columbia Business School, including:
- Customers: Focus on the needs and desires of customers, using their information and feedback to improve products and services;
- Competition: Understand and respond quickly to industry competition by using technology to improve performance and integrate innovative solutions;
- Data: Use data to make intelligent decisions, predict trends, and adjust production, supply, and risk management;
- Innovation: Encourage creativity and innovation within the organization, from developing new products to creating more efficient work processes;
- Value Proposition: Define the organization’s core values and ensure that digital transformation is compatible with these values to maintain reputation and credibility.
Process Digitization Technology Helps Optimize Business Operations
At the event, Mr. Chu Tien Long – Digital Transformation Director of 1Office, presented effective methods and practices for converting traditional business processes into digitized ones, helping businesses enhance performance and creativity. All-In-One comprehensive management is a current trend and a prerequisite for digital transformation. Currently, 1Office has an advantage with its All-In-One model that addresses all business operations within a single software.
1Office BPA provides several key features, including an intuitive setup screen in a diagram format that helps users easily digitize any process within the organization. According to Mr. Long, process digitization brings many practical benefits to businesses. With digitization, it becomes easier to apply processes to actual operations as it does not require training for new participants, and monitoring is also simpler. Digitized processes help work flow smoothly and seamlessly, thereby enhancing employee performance.
Furthermore, it enhances the ability to accurately evaluate each task, preventing responsibility-shifting and blame games. The smart alert system helps prevent tasks from being forgotten or missed. Based on statistical reports, the organization can improve processes to make them more suitable and optimized.
Additionally, 1Office provides a resource library of template processes, including processes built by experts and those shared by customers. This helps organizations easily use proven process templates.
Strengthening business support policies
To digitize businesses smoothly and seamlessly, business support policies are indispensable. According to Ms. Tran Thi Trang – Head of the Creative Startup Support Department, Hanoi Department of Planning & Investment, shared a clearer view on how the government and local organizations support business development through digital transformation.
Accordingly, it is necessary to promote communication for innovative startups and build a startup culture. Develop human resources for innovative startups by organizing training courses. Develop infrastructure, technology, and premises for innovative startup activities. Promote innovative startup activities by organizing conferences, seminars, etc. Support the application of science and technology, technology transfer, and products. Provide financial support and promote investment activities for innovative startups, Ms. Trang said.
The global economy is undergoing a strong shift, and this is a crucial time for Vietnam to become the region’s science and technology startup hub. To enhance innovation and transform the digital economy, bringing startups to success, the Government needs to build financial policies to support innovative startups, such as tax incentives, credit policies, and other support policies.
Businesses and socio-political organizations need to increase orders and use products from innovative startups, promote the development of the innovative product market, and connect support services for the national startup ecosystem.
