BUSINESS TALK: THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION LANDSCAPE FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES

In the context of the Industry 4.0 Revolution, applying digital platforms is an inevitable trend that helps businesses enhance their competitive advantage and optimize business administration. Especially in the face of strong fluctuations caused by the pandemic, businesses of any scale will struggle to survive and grow if they do not change and quickly adapt to market trends.

According to Gartner Inc., up to 91% of businesses have begun digitizing to some extent. Whether large or small, all businesses are taking their first steps on the digital transformation journey. According to a 2020 survey by Vinasa, up to 92% of Vietnamese businesses want or need to digitally transform, but most do not truly understand what digital transformation is or where to start.

Furthermore, the “The State of Digital Adoption 2022 – 2023” survey conducted by WalkMe also indicated that among the 1,500 participating business leaders, as many as 70% of organization heads could not identify who would be responsible for issues arising from the digital transformation process. Approximately 67% admitted to being under “tremendous pressure” to drive this initiative, and 60% concluded that their company’s transformation roadmaps were “no longer fit for purpose.”

The time has come for businesses to have a comprehensive view of the digital transformation landscape, thereby shaping and aligning on goals, strategies, and implementation roadmaps suitable for their scale and development model. Only then can the digital transformation process be truly effective and valuable, helping businesses transform strongly and accelerate growth in the near future.
