On April 23rd, the seminar “Technology Transition & O2O Model in F&B Business” was held in Ho Chi Minh City. With experience in implementing solutions for many large F&B chains such as Yody, Hadilao, Tocotoco, Gumac, Canifa,… 1Office was honored to partner with Babuky, Consulting to organize this event.

The speakers at the seminar

Attending the seminar were: Mr. Do Duy Thanh, Founder/CEO of FnB Director; Mr. Nguyen Huu Dong, Founder/CEO of KAS; Mr. Le Viet Thang, Founder/CEO of 1Office; Mr. John Nguyen, Head of Business at Zeek; Mr. Hoang Manh Long, Co-Founder of Hanoi Ngon, along with the event moderator, Ms. Kathy Tran, Co-founder/CGO of Babuki.

The event was also attended by many founders and managers of eateries, restaurants, and cafes interested in improving their business strategies, marketing, and customer experience by applying technology to enhance efficiency and optimize costs. Also present were owners of F&B-related businesses seeking to connect, share experiences, and collaborate, as well as individual/community investors and F&B consultants.

With the “enormous” amount of information provided by the speakers, participants gained more knowledge about: The trend of shifting business, marketing, and technology models towards “Online to Offline” and “Offline to Online” experiences. Opportunities vs. challenges in building an O2O model in the F&B industry. ️Specific and useful solutions for F&B business management: order management, delivery, payment, inventory management, human resource management… How to set up a private marketing and delivery channel alongside using third-party delivery/marketing systems (3rd party applications). Practical experience in enhancing the O2O experience in franchised restaurant chains.

CEO Le Viet Thang with specific and useful solutions for F&B business management

This was practical and useful information for the attendees because, according to data from Statista, revenue from the online food and beverage service market in Vietnam reached $200 million in 2019, an increase of 34.3% compared to 2018. By 2023, the revenue of this industry is projected to reach $408 million. Therefore, F&B will continue to be an attractive piece of the pie for investors.

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the entire F&B industry has changed to adapt to the pandemic and to be able to survive even after it has passed.

During the days of COVID-19 prevention, even the Golden Gate restaurant chain – an F&B enterprise that had previously “said no to online ordering services” for its high-end chains like GoGi, Hutong, and Manwah – was forced to change its strategy. In addition, other major restaurant and cafe chains such as RedSun, Starbucks, and The Coffee House also had to increase investment in their existing online ordering platforms.

Meanwhile, the “Cloud kitchen” trend—food services provided directly by restaurants through online ordering platforms—which has existed in many parts of the world, has only truly taken off during this time.

At the seminar, a strategic cooperation signing ceremony took place between 1Office and Babuky. This will be a new and promising direction for both parties in the future.

The seminar helped F&B business owners grasp the trend of technology transition and the O2O business model, along with its opportunities, challenges, practical technology solutions, and successful real-world case studies. This is the most practical knowledge to help attendees draw suitable lessons for their own businesses in the current era of Digital Transformation.

The seminar was a great success
