On October 25, 2023, 1Office, in collaboration with Viet Nam DX Group, successfully organized the event “Digital Transformation: Mindset or Tool,” attracting a large number of participants from business professionals, technology experts, and those interested in the modern digital revolution. With a lineup of exceptionally experienced speakers, this event provided fascinating insights into the importance of digital transformation.

1. The Importance of People in Digital Transformation
The event began with a captivating discussion by Mr. Le Trung Thang, Founder & CEO of Viet Nam DX Group. Mr. Thang focused on the theme “PEOPLE – THE CENTER OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION,” emphasizing that technology is merely a tool, and the human spirit and adaptability are the most unique and crucial elements. He shared insights on creating an environment for human development in the context of digital transformation.
In his presentation, Mr. Le Trung Thang mentioned Microsoft’s Digital Transformation model and focused on the crucial role of people in the digital transformation process. He made it clear that people are at the center of all technology-related activities:
– Customer Experience (CX): Technology must be applied to create a better experience for customers, partners, and suppliers. This helps improve their satisfaction.
– Employee Experience (EX): Digital transformation must also bring happiness to those working in the organization, from investors, leadership, and managers to employees. Technology helps optimize work processes and creates opportunities for personal development.
– Optimizing internal operations: Technology plays a crucial role in optimizing the organization’s internal operational processes while also supporting the transformation of the external business model.
Mr. Thang also mentioned 5 key aspects of transformation for Columbia Business School, including:
– Customers: Focusing on the needs and desires of customers, using their information and feedback to improve products and services.
– Competition: Understanding and reacting quickly to industry competition by using technology to improve performance and integrate innovative solutions.
– Data: Using data to make intelligent decisions, predict trends, and adjust production, supply, and risk management.
– Innovation: Encouraging creativity and innovation within the organization, from developing new products to more efficient work processes.
– Value Proposition: Defining the organization’s core values and ensuring that digital transformation is compatible with these values to maintain reputation and credibility.
The example of Rang Dong company was used by him to illustrate success in digital transformation, including:
– Innovation in products and services has helped this company create value for customers, helping them maintain and expand their market share.
– Using data to predict and adjust production and supply, ensuring that products are always available to meet market demand.
– Building a flexible business model to adapt to market changes, including creating new products and services to meet new customer needs.
Finally, Mr. Le Trung Thang emphasized that the role of leadership is decisive in the digital transformation process. Next was an interesting talk with Mr. Nguyen Minh Phuc, Director of Project Management Consulting at Agile Academy. Mr. Phuc provided detailed insights on “AGILE MINDSET IN DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION.” He celebrated the flexible mindset and helped the audience better understand how to apply Agile methods to adapt quickly to change, optimize the digital transformation process, and create value for the business.

Combining multiple methods
Mr. Phuc emphasized that Digital Transformation does not necessarily have to follow a specific method like Scrum or Kanban. People can flexibly combine different methods depending on the specific situation. For instance, one can start with Waterfall in the initial phase, then switch to Scrum to ensure flexibility and agility during the digital transformation process.
Data visualization
Mr. Phuc stated that tracking and visualizing data is a crucial factor for improvement. Data helps evaluate performance and understand work processes, thereby enabling necessary adjustments to improve the workflow.
A psychologically safe environment
Creating a healthy and psychologically safe environment for the team is a key factor in ensuring effective collaboration. This environment encourages the sharing of ideas, evaluations, and constructive criticism.
Quick wins
Mr. Phuc advised that achieving “quick wins” early is important to help the team get through the “storming” phase, when everyone is still adapting to change. These initial small achievements can build momentum and trust within the team.

This discussion created a lively atmosphere, allowing the audience to ask questions and receive valuable advice from the experts.
