On November 10, 2022, at the Binh Phuoc Provincial Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion, a seminar titled “Digital Transformation in Corporate Governance for the Manufacturing Sector” was held.
The event was organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Ho Chi Minh City Branch (VCCI-HCM) in collaboration with the Binh Phuoc Provincial Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion (TT.XTĐTTM&DL), along with three leading digital transformation consulting and solution providers: 1Office Joint Stock Company (1Office), Global Enterprise Solutions Joint Stock Company (GESO), and JProTech Technology Co., Ltd. (JProTech).
With the goal of supporting manufacturing enterprises in industrial parks within Binh Phuoc province to access and effectively apply technology solutions to realize digital transformation in corporate governance and operations, the seminar attracted the participation of over 80 leaders from manufacturing businesses both inside and outside the industrial parks in Binh Phuoc province, as well as representatives from relevant departments and agencies.
At the seminar, Mr. Tran Ngoc Liem – Director of VCCI-HCM, stated: “Through surveys, we have found that Vietnamese enterprises have very high expectations for digital transformation, but their practical application capabilities are still limited. Currently, digital transformation has become a decisive factor for the survival and sustainable development of Vietnamese enterprises in general and Binh Phuoc enterprises in particular, especially as businesses are under pressure not only from the domestic market but also from foreign markets.”
The significant disparity between production capacity and operational capacity is one of the main reasons why many businesses in Binh Phuoc province have stagnated in their development. Many manufacturing enterprises are currently facing immense pressure in human resource management due to inconsistent management methods, unclear labor regulations, and a lack of supporting tools, while their workforce size tends to ‘swell’. At the same time, the level of connection and interaction between leaders, managers, and employees, as well as among employees themselves, is at an alarming level.
Besides the challenges in human resource management, manufacturing enterprises also face problems related to operational processes. In reality, the process systems in many manufacturing businesses have not yet been optimally built and digitized, even though this is key for businesses to synchronize product quality and optimize productivity. The frequent overlap and lack of connection between business process flows and proposal processes can cause businesses to waste many resources and miss opportunities.
With experience in digital transformation consulting for over 500 businesses of various fields and sizes, Mr. Dang Van Ky – Southern Regional Director of 1Office, understands the three specific challenges in human resource management for manufacturing enterprises: Timekeeping – Shift scheduling – Payroll. From there, Mr. Ky suggested solutions to help businesses manage human resources in a modern and intelligent way.
Instead of manually scheduling shifts, exporting timekeeping data from time clocks, then compiling work hours, and handling leave requests through paperwork, email, or separate chat applications, the HR department can be completely ‘liberated’ thanks to a single software: 1Office.
1Office HRM (the human resource management module in the 1Office software) can digitize the entire administrative request system, automatically update the timesheet after approval, and automatically connect with time clocks to retrieve fingerprint data into the software. With 1Office HRM, timekeeping policies can be customized using Excel-like functions, and timekeeping regulations can also be tailored to the actual needs of each business, such as calculating work hours by shift, by job position, etc.
Meeting the specific need for flexible hourly shifts of each business, 1Office HRM can fully update existing timekeeping formulas to configure them on the software and operate smoothly.
“According to a survey conducted by 1Office on 500 businesses undergoing digital transformation, 100% of Chief Experience Officers (CxO) recognize the importance of processes and believe that a minimum of 70% of tasks must be proceduralized for the company to operate smoothly. However, up to 50% of them reported difficulties with processes, and as many as 70% of businesses that hired ISO consultants failed within 6 months,” Dang Van Ky – Southern Regional Director of 1Office shared at the event.
Not only does 1Office help managers find a powerful ‘assistant’ in digitizing human resource management activities, but it also offers a revolutionary solution for business process management: 1Office BPA (Business Process Automation).
1Office BPA is a remarkable technological advancement developed by the 1Office team. The outstanding value that sets 1Office BPA apart is its ability to support the creation of automatic or manual nodes within a process, thereby ensuring the process runs continuously without interruption or breakdown at any step. This helps minimize errors and forgotten tasks, and quickly detect and correct errors at any stage.
Notably, 1Office BPA also integrates multi-platform digital signatures, allowing managers to approve documents and papers from anywhere with just a mobile device. This helps save time and costs for managers and enhances the customer experience. At the same time, it frees up personnel from manual tasks in procedural processing, such as submitting for signatures, printing, and delivering regular documents, without worrying about time or geographical constraints.
In addition to 1Office’s solutions for human resource and process management for manufacturing enterprises, the two consulting firms, GESO and JProtech, also provided business leaders with pertinent solutions for enterprise resource planning and unlocking data potential.
In the 4.0 era, the ability to correctly grasp trends, accurately assess the role of digital technology solutions, find the right reputable partners, and seize the ‘golden’ moment will help businesses confidently implement digital transformation, save time, optimize costs, increase benefits for the business itself, and elevate the customer experience, thereby enhancing their competitive position in the market.
