Starting as an honors graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, Mr. Nguyen Van Khai accepted an invitation from a Japanese company for nearly a year of training in the Land of the Rising Sun. This stranger in the “land of the rising sun” never imagined that his decision to take the plunge that year would open a life-changing door of opportunity. Making the most of this “golden opportunity,” Mr. Khai focused on absorbing knowledge, enhancing his professional expertise under high-quality Japanese instructors, and set a goal to master Japanese at all costs. This invaluable experience during his youth in the world’s economic powerhouse nurtured Mr. Khai into a person with a “Japanese style” work ethic, shaping the strategic mindset of a future business leader.
His time in the Land of Cherry Blossoms gave him experience with a distinctive culture highly valued for its prudence, discipline, and the paramount importance of ‘Tín’ (Trust/Credibility). In Japanese characters, Tín (信) means belief and keeping promises, formed by combining the characters for “Person” (イ) and “Word” (言). This implies that a trustworthy person’s words match their actions—they do what they say—to build trust in others. The more he contemplated and absorbed this concept, the more Mr. Khai realized that ‘Tín’ was the only path to building both a personal and professional life.
After returning to Vietnam, Mr. Khai noticed that the field of certified translation (especially for the Japanese language) was a “blue ocean market” with very few professional providers. Not wanting to miss this opportunity, he decided to start his own business. In 2012, transitioning from a purely technical engineer, Mr. Khai became a Founder & CEO. As someone who values gratitude and integrity, and having been formally trained and deeply influenced by the cultural values of the Japanese business environment, Mr. Khai believed that ‘Tín’ (Trust) must be the top priority when starting his entrepreneurial journey. That is why he decided to name his first company Việt Uy Tín.
For anyone who wants to achieve great success, it is essential to have a long-term business vision. And the most important strategy within that vision is to maintain ‘Tín’ (Credibility) for both oneself and one’s career. In business, ‘Tín’ is not elaborate or fancy; it is simply about being truthful, without deceit or trickery, and using authenticity to earn customers’ trust.
From the very beginning, when Mr. Khai was running the company and handling all the work by himself, delivering real value to customers and upholding ‘Tín’ (Trust) were always the guiding principles. His efforts and perseverance paid off, as Việt Uy Tín quickly built a stable client base. Starting with just Mr. Khai, the company grew to hire consultants, and the number of staff continued to increase rapidly. Every product from TIN Holdings is meticulously checked by Mr. Khai himself and his highly skilled associates, passing through multiple rounds of inspection before reaching the customer.
Growing continuously, the company never lost its way, following the “common thread” of trust and credibility. On average, they moved offices once a year, sometimes even four times within the same building, from a small room to a larger one, and then to another building when space ran out. Mr. Khai shared, “Perhaps the name Việt Uy Tín itself made customers fond of us and seek us out”. And so, the company’s reputation was built on “Tín”—the credibility of the business and the trust of its customers.
Knowledge, experience, and expertise have always accompanied Mr. Nguyen Van Khai on his business journey. To deliver the best product quality, Mr. Khai always focuses on investing thoroughly in standardized professional knowledge, accompanied by experts in the field. Before establishing TinTravel, Mr. Khai underwent training to receive a travel consulting certificate, added a degree from the Foreign Trade University in 2018, and studied law to support his business activities in the legal sector.
From his first business venture, Mr. Khai has continuously challenged himself in various industries. Though the fields and business environments have changed, the TIN Holdings brands have always kept the word TIN (meaning TÍN – Trust) as an inseparable part of their brand identity. This serves as an affirmation of their commitment to credibility with employees, partners, customers, and the community. With quality proven over more than a decade of development, Mr. Khai has successfully built the multi-disciplinary TIN Holdings ecosystem, offering useful supplementary services to customers and the community.
In the diligent journey of TIN Holdings, Trust is the foundational value for all success. Credibility must be maintained with oneself, with colleagues, and above all, with customers.
TIN Holdings places Trust at its core, considering it a matter of honor to always live and work according to its commitments. Because TIN Holdings understands that “A person without credibility can achieve nothing.” In everything from work and communication to internal policies and culture, Trust is the solid bridge connecting leadership, management, and employees at all levels. This is how TIN Holdings has built a united, strong team that always stands together to overcome challenges.
For customers, Trust is not just an empty promise that appears out of nowhere; it is a long-term process built through practical conduct and actions aimed at maintaining and fulfilling commitments and promises in the best and most serious manner. This sounds simple, but putting it into practice is not easy at all, because not all commitments and promises are easy to fulfill. Many commitments require not only business ethics, dedication, and sincerity but also the capability, expertise, and service quality of the entire organization, not just individuals.
Therefore, to maintain Trust and uphold commitments, TIN Holdings often has to work with high intensity, make great efforts, sometimes push beyond its limits, and even accept financial losses. At TIN Holdings, “Trust is a treasure,” but it is a “fragile, easily broken treasure” that requires everyone to guard it with utmost care.
One of the core principles in the company’s value system is to never go back on our word with customers. In business operations, especially when working directly with customers on matters such as consultations, quotes, scheduling, and delivering service results, all employees are conscious that every word carries the responsibility and obligation to be fulfilled exactly as spoken. The member companies within the TIN Holdings system are all committed to a common service standard for serving customers: FAST, FLEXIBLE, and RELIABLE.
“Hard to build, easy to lose, but if maintained, it is the foundation for success and sustainable development” – Trust is mutual confidence, not breaking promises, and always fulfilling commitments and schedules with customers. While in the Vietnamese business environment, the word “sympathy” is often used to excuse mistakes, TIN Holdings does not allow this to happen because trust and the commitment to fulfill promises are always prioritized.
In a flat world, especially in production, business, and trade collaborations, no information can be hidden, particularly dishonest or negative business practices. Good news travels far, but bad news travels just as fast. Bankruptcy is the “financial death” of a business, but losing trust is its “social death.” Only by operating with integrity, professionalism, a focus on quality, and upholding trust can a business survive long-term. For TIN Holdings, credibility is the most accurate measure of a company’s values.
TIN Holdings always uses Trust as the foundation for all development activities, linking it to the brands it invests in and their brand identities. When people mention TIN Holdings, every customer thinks of Trust, and conversely, when people mention Trust, they know it’s TIN Holdings. It is clear that Trust has enabled TIN Holdings to advance far beyond its industry peers, spreading its good reputation to larger markets full of opportunities. In other words, the solid foundation of Trust has built the strong and sustainably growing TIN Holdings of today.
