With the desire to provide businesses in the Construction – Architecture – Engineering sector with a “rapid” recovery solution and a roadmap for applying technology in their operational processes, 1Office organized the seminar “Applying Technology in the Operation of Construction – Architecture – Engineering Businesses” on the morning of September 18th.
Vietnam’s economy is entering a “new normal” phase, with construction projects gradually resuming operations. This is a “do-or-die” moment for businesses to decide whether to change and develop sustainably against all impacts, or to barely survive and risk collapsing at any moment.
The online event with the theme “Applying Technology in the Operation of Construction – Architecture – Engineering Businesses” was successfully held on October 16, 2021, with the participation of over 300 leaders/managers and representatives from construction – architecture – engineering businesses nationwide.
Let’s look back at the practical insights from leading experts on digital transformation and the application of technology in the operation of Construction – Architecture – Engineering businesses.
The current state of digital transformation in construction – architecture – engineering businesses
Opening the webinar, Mr. Chu Tien Long – Co-Founder of 1Office shared the challenges that construction – architecture – engineering businesses face when implementing digital transformation:
- Business data such as personnel information, customer information, project details, or procedures for requesting materials and cash advances are still primarily handled on paper or in Excel.
- Construction projects are scattered across multiple locations. When site staff propose material purchases, they often go through time-consuming steps, leading to delayed payments, slow material supply, etc.
- Many businesses are still struggling with where to start their digital transformation, leading to the purchase of too many separate software solutions for different tasks (accounting, sales, projects), which wastes budget without achieving the expected results.
- Application providers only supply the software without offering a specific digital transformation roadmap for the business, making it impossible to evaluate the software’s effectiveness.
- After implementing multiple ineffective software solutions, businesses become more hesitant to seek new solutions, leading to delays in applying technology for digital transformation.
- Employees are accustomed to traditional working methods, are afraid of working with software, and are reluctant to engage with new technology.
Applying technology for digital transformation is a stepping stone to enhancing competitiveness among businesses, especially in the post-Covid context. If a business cannot find the right set of digital transformation tools or does not clearly recognize the importance of digital transformation, it will soon be left behind in the immediate “new normal race” and the competitive market “race” of the future.
How has Kisato applied technology in its business operations?
Continuing the event, Mr. Pham Van Luong – Chairman of the Board of Kisato JSC, shared practical insights on applying technology in operations to ensure business efficiency and work performance even during the most complex period of the pandemic.
Mr. Luong stated: “When we build a complete system framework and gradually upgrade it through automation, processization, standardization, optimization, simplification, and replication, we will have a machine that operates automatically and earns money automatically, rather than being stuck in one place. To achieve this, technology is an indispensable factor that helps us save time & costs while also guiding the future strategies of the business”.
Specifically, Kisato has always been ready to apply technology anytime, anywhere. Before using 1Office, Kisato tested many different software solutions to evaluate, adjust, learn from experience, and find the most suitable solution for the business.
Drawing from practical experience and studying successful businesses, Mr. Luong developed and applied a 10-step strategy so that the Kisato system can operate anytime, anywhere, without depending on its leader.
Kisato itself faced many difficulties when first implementing digital transformation. However, Mr. Luong never considered giving up and always dedicated time to research, analyze, and delve deep into 1Office to fully leverage the benefits of technology in business operations.
