Starting from a small production facility, after 10 years, Nutricare now owns and operates 3 manufacturing plants and a nationwide distribution system with over 5,000 stores, 500 ambassador stores, and 300 schools & hospitals. 

With its rapid growth and expanding scale, Nutricare has been facing many difficulties in corporate governance and operations, especially in human resource and process management.

With over 112 back-office staff, thousands of factory workers, and a large logistics team, Nutricare is under immense pressure in its management activities. At Nutricare, timekeeping and payroll are currently done manually. At the end of each month, the HR-Admin department has to spend a significant amount of time exporting data from the time clock, compiling employee timesheets based on information from branches, sending the timesheets to employees for review and feedback, and handling any discrepancies. Simultaneously, this department still needs to manage tasks related to recruitment, training, and organizing internal events.

Additionally, Nutricare’s request processing cycle is also experiencing bottlenecks at the approval stage. With numerous requests for leave, absence, business trips, special work arrangements, etc., coming in daily, the HR-Admin department needs to spend a lot of time looking up timekeeping and leave information, contacting managers for signatures, and updating records with any changes. However, due to the nature of their work which often requires travel, Nutricare’s leaders are not always available at the office to handle these matters promptly. This leaves the HR-Admin department feeling overwhelmed by a sea of paperwork.

Regarding process management, like other manufacturing companies, Nutricare also faces many challenges in inter-departmental coordination. Because the three factories and the company office are geographically distant, information exchange is often interrupted and lacks continuity. Task assignment and approvals are mainly done via Zalo and Gmail, making it difficult for the Board of Directors to accurately assess work progress and efficiency. When problems arise, it is also hard to trace and identify the specific cause.
